David Williams
District Attorney Investigator | Ventura County District Attorney's Office
With 26 years of law enforcement experience, David Williams began his career in 1998 as a Reserve Police Officer with the Monterey Park Police Department and later full-time with the California State University Police Department (Los Angeles). He retired in 2023 as a Detective with the Beverly Hills Police Department. During his twelve years as a detective, David specialized in fraud and forgery, auto theft, and high-tech investigations. He was also a forensic examiner for computers, cell phones, and vehicles. He was a Taskforce Officer with the Los Angeles County multi-agency Taskforce for Regional Auto-theft Prevention (T.R.A.P.).
David is an active California Hazardous Materials Investigators Association (CHIMA) member and previously served as President of the Western States Auto Theft Investigators Association (WSATI). In this role at WSATI, he continued the tradition of fostering collaboration between law enforcement, auto dealerships, and rental agencies to combat auto theft through intelligence sharing and educating members on the latest prevention technologies.
David is a District Attorney Investigator with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, focusing on consumer and environmental cases. His passion for auto theft prevention remains strong, and he maintains close ties with law enforcement and industry professionals to stay at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies.
